Altec Awards – V Science Gala

In the fifth Science Gala, taking place on the 26th May at Casino Figueira da Foz, Altec will award its “Prize for Laser”. The winner is chosen by the president of the association, taking into account the arguments of the Scientific Council, and aims to draw attention to best practices and/or important research in the laser field.

The “Open Mind” award was created by the president of Altec in order to draw attention to important subjects, with repercussions on people's lives. The prize is awarded annually to an individual or institution and the winner is selected by Altec´s president, after consulting scientific or academic personalities.

Syneron Candela, a sponsor member of Altec, will support several initiatives undertaken during 2012, such as the Science Gala Syneron Candela prize, laser courses and support for scientific work. This year, Altec and Syneron Candela will award the "Laser" prize to the Portuguese Society of Dermatology, chaired by Prof. Américo Figueiredo. The award aims to distinguish individuals or associations that contribute to good practice in the use of medical and/or aesthetic lasers. The Award was conceived by the company LARUS and will be delivered along with a cash value of 2000 Euros, during the V Science Gala.
