Altec is an association that started in April 2008 to promote research, education, safety and clinical usage of Laser techniques, as well as providing consultancy for business projects related to Laser.

Altec has its headquarters in Porto, Portugal. Our team aggregates portuguese and spanish physicians, engineers, pharmacists, biologists, jurists and managers.

In 2009 Altec will promote conferences, sponsor scientific studies and divulge information related to the safety of laser equipments and the emergence of new technologies.

In order to fullfill its objectives, Altec has a Scientific and Technological Board and a Business Advisory Board.

The founder and president

The founder and president of Altec, Antonio Lucio Baptista, is a private practice Cardio-Thoracic Surgeon very much experienced in vascular diseases.

For the last ten years he is very much interested in laser procedures and was one of the first surgeons using laser in Oporto specially for varicose veins treatment combined with surgery.
